Wintersports in the resort of Suomu
Being on the Arctic Circle almost guarantees Suomu perfect snow conditions from November to May. Many of our guests, even those who have skied the world over many years, have commented that they ‘have never seen snow like it, it is soft, white, powder snow that is usually difficult to make a snowball with because it is so fluffy and dry, but is perfect for skiing and snowboarding. Although the winter days are short the floodlit slopes and cross-country trails will ensure a full day of skiing or snowboarding and by March Suomu has more hours of daylight than London, Madrid or Zurich.
Are you wishing to try skiing or snowboarding for the first time and feeling perhaps nervous or intimidated by the commercialism and hustle and bustle of ‘international’ resorts? You will find Suomu an undiscovered treasure with its wide tree lined runs, uncrowded slopes and lifts where queues are almost unheard of.
