Ski School in Suomu, Lapland
The instructors all speak very good English and we receive many comments praising their patience and friendliness. You may join a group or private lessons in down hill skiing or snowboarding. Group sizes are kept small to ensure the most effective instruction, usually with not more than 12 people per class. Children have their own dedicated children’s ski school
(6-11 year olds).
Please consider carefully your level of skiing when selecting the type of lesson for you. Most group lessons will cater for level 1 and 2 skiers in different groups, however when numbers necessitate these may be combined into one class. Level 3 and above skiers will usually find they benefit most from opting for a private lesson or two.
Level 1: you have never skied before or you consider yourself a beginner.
Level 2: you have skied for a week or more, can use a lift, can do snowplough turns and ski blue runs.
Level 3: you are confident to ski blue and red runs.
Please note if the minimum number of 3 is not reached for either downhill, cross country skiing or snowboarding the group lesson will be reduced to 1 hour per day as you will be receiving almost private instruction. This cannot be requested and will be advised on arrival in resort.
If travelling with friends or family you may also wish to create your own ‘private’ group, please speak to our travel advisors to arrange this at the time of booking as it does need to be pre-arranged and a supplement is payable.
Snowboarding lessons are not recommended for children under 7 yrs old.
Please note if the minimum number of 3 is not reached for either downhill or snowboarding the group lesson will be reduced to 1 hour per day as group will receive almost private instruction 2 hrs lesson effective training 1hour 45 minutes. 15 minutes reserved for a short break and moving to slopes.
